Project Description

The Killarney Community Centre Arena Modifications project will consist of the following work:

  • The existing supply fan will be rotated by 180 degrees to reverse the airflow.  This will prevent the fan from blowing hot air into the arena and will instead remove the old stale air from the arena.
  • The existing backdraft dampers at the north end of the arena will be removed and will be replaced with a filter bank.  This will allow fresh air into the arena.
  • In order to increase the performance of the dehumidifier the supply ductwork for the dehumidifier will be extended.  This will eliminate the short cycling of the unit and allow for a high percentage of dehumidification.

The Vancouver Park Board will design, tender, and provide construction management services for the duration of the project.
