Project Description

In 2006 a concept plan for the redevelopment of Nelson Park was approved by the Park Board, and the park was redeveloped in accordance with the plan in 2007. A secure public washroom was requested as a high priority during the community consultations for the project. The redevelopment included demolition of the park field house with a washroom to be provided in the future when funding became available.

Recently, Park Board staff learned that an Automatic Public Toilet unit (APT) is available through the City Engineering Department’s Street Services Contract. Installation date is yet to be determined.

Community Participation

An information session was held on Thursday October 27, 2011, from 4:30 – 7:30 pm at Lord Roberts School Annex.
