Vanier Park Pedestrian improvements

Project Description

The Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation and the City of Vancouver Engineering Services will be installing a sidewalk along Whyte Avenue, within Vanier Park, to facilitate safe pedestrian access between Chestnut Street and the waterfront.

Several alder trees on the south side of Whyte, at the edge of the wooded area, will be removed to make way for the sidewalk.  The tree removals have been reviewed and approved by the Park Board arborist.

Construction on this project will occur in the winter of 2010-2011.
