Comments sought on proposed community garden at David Lam Park

May 28, 2010 (No. 23) - A proposal has been made to construct a community garden in David Lam Park. The Y.M.C.A. has submitted an application to build an Intercultural Community Garden at the corner of Homer Street and Beach Crescent, northwest of the tennis courts (see map).

The garden will be approximately five meters by 30 meters. Because the proposed garden is on park property, it must be formally approved by the Park Board. The approval process involves canvassing community support for the garden.

Comments regarding this proposal can be submitted by June 15, 2010 to:

Fax: 604-257-8616
E-mail: bill.manning@vancouver.ca
In writing: Vancouver Park Board, 955 Evans Avenue, Vancouver, B.C. V6A 4C8

An information table will be set up on June 15, 5pm to 8 pm, in the Roundhouse Community Arts and Recreation Centre lobby (181 Roundhouse Mews). Staff and project proponents will on hand to discuss the project, answer questions and to receive feedback.
