Portion of Stanley Park seawall to remain closed over weekend due to ice hazard

November 26, 2010 (No. 57) –A section of the Stanley Park Seawall between Ferguson Point and Prospect Point will remain closed over the weekend due to ice hazard on over-hanging slopes.

This section of seawall had been closed beginning November 24 for slope maintenance work and was expected to reopen over the weekend when work was not taking place however cold and snowy conditions this week have resulted in the build-up of hazardous ice formations along this length of seawall. As a safety precaution the seawall will remain closed. Third Beach will remain accessible.

The slope maintenance project will continue weekdays until mid-December.
