Swim, skate, golf and enjoy seasonal displays over the holidaysDecember 14, 2010 (No. 60) – A full range of Vancouver Park Board’s recreational facilities and attractions will be open for family fun over the holidays. A schedule of hours of operation for community centres, swimming pools, fitness centres and skating rinks is posted at vancouverparks.ca Light displays and gardens are, of course, open over the holidays: Festival of Lights at VanDusen Botanical Garden, Jewel Box of Lights at Bloedel Conservatory in Queen Elizabeth Park and Bright Nights in Stanley Park all welcome visitors daily (except December 25). Grab your clubs and enjoy a round of golf at one of Vancouver’s three full-length municipal courses at Fraserview, Langara and McCleery courses or pitch & putt golf courses at Stanley Park and Rupert Park (weather permitting). The Park Board Administration Office at 2099 Beach Avenue will be closed beginning 12 noon Friday, December 24 and will reopen on Tuesday, January 4 at 8:30 am. Schedules are subject to change and weather can sometimes impact operating times.
