Leisure Access Card Program (LAC)

The Vancouver Park Board’s Leisure Access Card program is for Vancouver residents who are in financial need.Our LAC program is for basic recreation programs and services.

How do you qualify?
  • You must be a resident of Vancouver (Canadian citizen or permanent resident and be able to provide proof of residency);
  • and you must be within the Low Income Cut off amounts in the chart below:
Family Income: A minimum $5000 income claim required for program eligibility

How do you apply?

There are two ways that you and your family can apply:
FASTRACK:
OPTION 1

  • If you are on BC Benefits Income Assistance from the Ministry of Human Resources, you can obtain an application form stamped by your Financial Worker and take it to the nearest community centre or pool for a Photo ID Card.

OPTION 2:
Fill out Low Income Application Form

  • Complete the application form Low Income application form PDF and send it to the Leisure Access office for processing. Please ensure all required documents are included in the application otherwise your application will be returned.

What are Senior & Youth Discounts?

All Seniors and Youth will receive 50% off the Adult rates with a valid LAC card.

If you do not qualify for the Leisure Access Card Program:
  • Discount dips and or discount skates are available. Please check schedules at your local pool or ice rink for reduced rates.
  • Pick up a swim or ice skate brochure for times and locations of these sessions. Children under the age of 3 years can swim or ice skate free at public sessions.
  • Check Community Centre Sponsored Programs or Services
  • Ask the Community Centre staff for details on fee reductions for other programs / events.
Attendant Policy

Free admission is provided to the attendant of any person with a disability who requires support to participate in our programs. Support is defined as assistance of a physical, psychological, emotional, intellectual or sensory nature, which is necessary to ensure that the person with a disability is able to fully participate. The participant may be required to pay the relevant admission fee.
