New Helmet Policy For Skating Lessons

Effective Feb 1, 2012 all skating lesson participants must wear
a CSA-certified hockey helmet* or a snowboarding helmet.
In accordance with new safety measures, cycling helmets are no longer permitted. A limited number of hockey helmets are available free of charge for lesson registrants at Park Board rinks.
*CSA-certified hockey helmets are also recommended for public skate participants.

Show a current City of Vancouver skate lesson registration receipt and receive
• 15% off helmets at Cyclone Taylor and The Sports Exchange in Vancouver
• 20% off a Bauer 2100 helmet at Scoff's Hockey Shop in Burnaby

There are eight ice rinks throughout the city, some of which offer year-round skating. A complete range of skating programs, special seasonal events and rental opportunities are available at affordable rates.
