Every tree is part of the urban forest. Help grow Vancouver’s urban forest canopy and contribute to the goal of increasing city-wide canopy cover to 30% by 2050.
Proof of Vancouver residency, such as a government-issued ID or utility bill, must be shown at pickup to be eligible.
Receipts can be shown on a mobile phone or as a printout.
Pickup time will be between 9am and 2pm. There is no need to line up early for tree pickup as trees will be handed out by staff. You will not be allowed to pick your own tree.
Trees cannot be exchanged or returned and there is no warranty after pickup
and planting.
Trees will range in height from 2 to 7 feet tall. Be prepared to carry and transport a pot that may weigh between 10 to 40 pounds.
If you have pre-purchased a tree, and it is not picked up by 2pm on Sunday, September 27, 2026, you risk forfeiting the tree.
Onsite sales and pickup for any remaining trees start at 2pm.
Onsite sales will be processed through your phone. Cash sales are not available.
Confirm your property line before planting. Trees must be planted on private property within Vancouver, not on publicly owned boulevards or parks.
Trees purchased from the tree sale do not qualify as replacement trees for tree removal permits.
If your order exceeds the MAXIMUM OF THREE (3) TREES, it will be automatically cancelled and refunded (minus any fees).
If you purchased a tree by mistake, email [email protected] to get a refund.
No warranty, returns, or refunds after pickup and planting

Medium (25 feet and taller): Needs more generous yard space. Measure the space to make sure branches won't interfere with nearby structures, before planting in the ground.
Small (12 to 25 feet): Good for limited yard space. Measure the space to make sure branches won't interfere with nearby structures, before planting in the ground.
Dwarf (1 to 12 feet): Grows much smaller than the typical species. Species under 8 feet can often be grown in containers in smaller spaces.
