Train operations suspended for the season

December 21: We regret to announce that the train will not be able to return in time for the remainder of the holiday season.

We are very sorry as we understand the inconvenience and disappointment this represents for everyone who was looking forward to enjoying this beloved holiday tradition with their friends and loved ones. We welcome visitors to come out to support the Burn Fund and enjoy the seasonal displays on the train plaza.

Bundle up the family and join us for a holiday experience like no other, as our iconic locomotives once again wind their way through the magical Stanley Park forest, alight with thousands of sparkling lights. Kids of all ages will cherish memories of riding the Stanley Park Train at Bright Nights for years to come.

Stroll through the plaza to enjoy even more lights, whimsical displays, and the crowd-pleasing vintage fire truck and big red reindeer. Make sure you check out the array of tasty treats offered by our food vendors on your way to the North Pole workshop, where you can snap a pic with Santa and his firefighter friends.

BC Professional Firefighters' Burn Fund

A favourite holiday tradition for the community and firefighters alike, Bright Nights is also the single largest fundraiser for the BC Professional Firefighters' Burn Fund , which provides life-saving, life-supporting, and life-enriching services to burn survivors and their families.

The Park Board has donated more than $2.5 million to the Burn Fund since Bright Nights began in 1998.

Other ticketing considerations

To access the Leisure Access Program (LAP) rate, participants can contact the Stanley Park Train office by email at stanleyparktrain@vancouver.ca or by phone at 604-257-8530 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm). Provide your valid LAP card details to receive a one-time code to purchase a maximum of 6 tickets. Subject to ticket availability.

Ticket disclaimer

Tickets are non-refundable and cannot be re-sold. Tickets from sources other than our website may be lost, stolen, or counterfeit, and if so, are void. If in our sole discretion, we determine that a person is re-selling any ticket(s), we reserve the right to revoke and cancel the order and the related ticket(s) and will not permit any future purchases by that person or any affiliated person.

Know before you go
- Tickets are sold online. Book a designated time slot for your train ride in advance. Passengers must be at the train station 15 minutes before the start of their time slot.
- Passengers must ride at their scheduled time. Due to capacity constraints, we cannot accommodate visitors who wish to delay their rides or large groups who wish to be seated together.
- We know that there are sometimes circumstances that can cause visitors to be late for their ride. We will do our best to accommodate latecomers on the next train with availability, but there is no guarantee of seating.
- This event is outdoors and runs rain or shine. Remember to dress for the weather.
- Have your tickets printed out or ready on your mobile device for scanning at the train station.

Food and beverage

We’re happy to welcome back our amazing food vendors to the plaza this year. You’ll be able to partake of your favourite savoury snacks and holiday treats.

Reindeer Café and Roadstop

The Roadstop will be on the plaza with classic grab-and-go snacks like churros, pretzels, and their ever-popular hot chocolate and apple cider. For something a bit more substantial, the Reindeer Café will be serving their classic burgers, fries, and hot dogs.

Insomniac’s Coffee

Serving up specialty coffee concoctions to those in need of caffeine. For something a little more soothing, they also offer a variety of herbal teas.

The Praguery food truck

Featuring mouth-watering Chimney Cakes, a traditional rolled and baked to order pastry with a range of toppings and fillings. A delicious combo of ice cream in a warm pastry cone.

Potato Tornado food truck

Enjoy the popular hot and crispy potato tornados and mac and cheese bites. If you fancy something savoury, try their new tacos!

The CobHouse

Grab a bag of hot buttered organic popcorn and support the Stanley Park Ecology Society.

Accessibility
- Tickets for wheelchair-accessible spots and attendants will be reserved in advance of the general sale.
- We offer free tickets for:
  - Wheelchair-accessible seating
  - Attendants for guests with accessibility needs
- Tickets for children in wheelchairs and attendants of guests with disabilities must be booked in advance of the general sale by calling 1-844-307-7469 on November 8 between 9 and 11am.
Strollers
- Stroller parking is available at the train station
Pets
- On-leash dogs are permitted inside the train site, but not on the train. Only certified service animals are permitted on the train.
- Staff are unable to mind your pets while you are on the train.
- If you choose to bring your dog to the event, make sure that you have someone in your group who can stay with your canine companion while you are enjoying your train ride.

Location

The Stanley Park Train is located on Pipeline Road in Stanley Park, via the West Georgia Street park entrance.

Take public transit , ride your bike, or walk.

Parking

On-site parking near the Stanley Park Railway will be limited due to construction on Metro Vancouver’s Stanley Park Water Supply Tunnel starting in November.

Event parking will be free after 3pm at the Railway lot. There is also free parking after 3pm on the west side of Pipeline Road, north of the railway site.

Additional event parking will also be available at the Stanley Park Information Booth, Vancouver Aquarium, and Lumberman’s Arch lots.

Parking will not be available in the overflow lot on the west side of Pipeline Road.

Guests are advised to allow additional time for potential traffic delays and to secure parking.
