From its grand opening in 1888 to today, there are three important and ongoing themes in the story of Stanley Park.

The Vancouver Park Board and City of Vancouver work together to:

  • Preserve and protect the ecology of Stanley Park
  • Ensure the sustainability of Stanley Park
  • Enhance Vancouver's liveability through the enjoyment of Stanley Park

After the windstorm

In December 2006, a devastating windstorm struck Stanley Park creating a crisis situation that required a massive clean-up and restoration plan.
