As part of a new pilot program now in effect, one-way carshare users can end their trips in time-limited parking zones that have a posted time limit of:
1 hour
2 hours
3 hours
Vehicles must not be stopped in areas with “no stopping” regulations or where other restrictions override the time-limited signage.
Need a car but don't want to own one? Join a car-sharing organization to gain access to hundreds of vehicles that you can rent by the minute, hour, or day. Save the expense of owning and maintaining your own vehicle, including the gas and maintenance costs.
Vehicles are conveniently located throughout Vancouver and can be reserved online, by smartphone app, or over the phone.

Look for these signs when parking a carshare vehicle
Car-share vehicles have dedicated parking spaces located in private parking lots and on city streets.
Our by-laws permit car-share vehicles to park in any unregulated areas without parking signage, as well as in resident parking only (RPO) and no parking except with permit (RPP) zones.
As a car-share user, you can park an actively rented car-share vehicle at a metered parking space without cost for up to 2 hours (as of July 23, 2019).
Where to drop off (one-way) carshare vehicle
If you are operating an Evo one-way car-share vehicle, you can end your trip in metered parking spaces, provided there are no other “no-stopping” or other overriding regulations in effect (as of September 12, 2019).
New pilot: Time-limited (TL) zones (Effective February 1, 2026)
As part of an upcoming pilot program, one-way carshare users can end their trips in time-limited (TL) parking zones that have a posted time limit of:
1 hour
2 hours
3 hours
Vehicles must not be stopped in areas with “no stopping” regulations or where other restrictions override the TL signage.

Do not end your carshare trips in any zone types where parking is restricted or prohibited. Some examples are shown below:

Carshare users may stop over in shorter time-limited zones (for example,15 minute or 30 minute zones).

Carshare operators and their members are responsible for following the rules in the area, including fees, restrictions, and enforcement
Carshare operators are responsible for making sure their vehicles follow all parking rules, including paying any fines if a vehicle overstays the posted time limit.
