Celebrate the fall season with Harvest Days at VanDusen Botanical Garden
VanDusen Botanical Garden’s much-anticipated Harvest Days is set to return this weekend, offering a celebration of autumn.
On Saturdays and Sundays from September 28 to October 20, plus Thanksgiving Day, the Garden will come alive with seasonal displays and activities for all ages, providing an affordable and exciting fall experience for visitors. Harvest Days activities are included with a general admission ticket to the Garden.
The event will transform the Garden’s vegetable garden and maze area into a fall-themed wonderland, complete with hay bales, cornstalks, pumpkins, and more. The stunning autumnal scenery creates a perfect setting for capturing seasonal photos.
This year’s displays will feature the works of local artist, Nickie Lewis, who specializes in eco-friendly sculptures created entirely out of natural, organic, and 100% biodegradable materials.
Children can enjoy fall-inspired crafts and find their way through the hedge maze. Food trucks, including Popcorn at the Park, Coffee & Cookie Truck, BistrotVan, and Melt City Grilled Cheese, will be on site selling refreshments and tasty snacks.
Bluegrass and family folk live music sessions will be held three times daily featuring artists such as Oh Clementine, Loon Lake Holler, the Contingency, and other members of the Pacific Bluegrass & Old Time Music Society.
Visitors are encouraged to explore the entire 55-acre garden, with highlights including the Autumn Stroll, lined with vibrant deciduous trees like sugar maples, ginkgo, and bald cypress.
