Escape to the Tropics: Bloedel Conservatory Reopens Next Week
The Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation is excited to announce the public reopening of Bloedel Conservatory on Saturday, January 4, 2025. Following an extensive pathway reconstruction project, the Conservatory is ready to welcome visitors back to a tropical paradise with enhanced accessibility.
The reopening comes just days before the school year resumes on January 6, offering families the perfect weekend outing to wrap up the holiday break. With exotic plants, chatty birds, and newly enhanced pathways, Bloedel Conservatory promises a fun and affordable indoor activity for visitors of all ages.
Guests will discover thoughtfully designed upgrades including:
- Expanded pathway access
Garden beds have been relocated to increase pathway access, reducing congestion and improving flow.
- Smoother, leveled surfaces
A new basalt flagstone surface has been installed, providing a uniform, gap-free path, making navigation smoother and safer for guests.
- Improved accessibility
Low points along the pathways have been raised to create a gradual, accessible grade for visitors with wheelchairs or other mobility aids.
These improvements not only elevate the visitor experience but also reflect the Conservatory’s commitment to inclusivity and accessibility. Beyond the physical improvements, Bloedel Conservatory continues to offer an affordable experience for visitors to reconnect with nature under the iconic triodetic dome.
Bloedel Conservatory will welcome visitors daily from 10 am to 4 pm beginning January 4. Plan your visit and purchase tickets at bloedelconservatory.ca
