Park Board invites feedback on proposed concept plan for new Kitsilano and Fairview park
The Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation is inviting those who live, work and play in Kitsilano and Fairview to shape the next steps for an exciting new neighbourhood space.
From April 8 to April 30, we invite the public to provide feedback on the draft concept plan for ‘Burrard Slopes Park’, located between Pine and Fir streets and West 5th and 6th avenues. The concept plan is guided by Park Board and City-led strategies and responds to feedback from the community during previous engagement.
The plan outlines a range of proposed elements, including a large central lawn area for passive and active recreational activities, a plaza-style skatepark, an expanded playground with improved accessibility and inclusivity features, new seating and socializing spaces, and an enclosed dog off-leash area.

More green space for two growing neighbourhoods
The project currently known as Burrard Slopes Park will bring much-needed green space to residents, workers and visitors in the rapidly growing neighbourhoods of Kitsilano and Fairview.
The future park site includes a section of the Arbutus Greenway, two existing parks and a newly cleared area north of the Greenway, following the demolition of three vacant buildings in 2024. Following construction, the park space will triple in size.
During initial engagement with the community we heard that Burrard Slopes Park should be a warm and welcoming gathering place with a focus on green space to support health and wellbeing and a balance of passive and active recreation options.
A final concept plan will be presented to the public and Park Board this fall, ahead of anticipated construction beginning in 2027.
An official park name for the park will be identified and announced through a separate naming process.
