City Council met this week to hear and discuss a variety of topics during Council and Standing Committee on Policy and Strategic Priorities.

Tuesday, November 25

This week’s meeting began with Council’s presentation of the proclamation for International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Council business then began with the approval of the following items on consent:

After that, Council approved the following items: 

Council also approved By-laws 1 (319 KB) and 2 to 10 (27 MB).

Wednesday, November 26

The Standing Committee on Policy and Strategic Priorities began with the approval of the following items on consent:

After that, the Standing Committee approved the following items: 

Council member’s motion Promoting Cultural Inclusion and Economic Vitality: Advancing the Main Street Filipino Cultural Centre and Hotel Project (167 KB) was referred to the Standing Committee meeting on December 10, 2025.

Council member’s motion Right of First Refusal: Building Pathways to Affordable Non-Market Housing (122 KB) was not approved.

A Council meeting was convened immediately following the Standing Committee meeting during which Council approved the recommendations and actions of the preceding Standing Committee on Policy and Strategic Priorities, and By-law 1 (704 KB).

Thursday, November 27

A public hearing was held where Council staff presentation and speakers on Vancouver’s Social Housing Initiative (17 KB). Debate and decision are referred to the Council meeting on December 9.
