City Council met this week to hear and discuss a variety of topics during the Standing Committee on City Finance and Services meeting.
Wednesday, April 22
The Standing Committee on City Finance and Services began with the approval of the following items on consent:
- 2025 Statement of Financial Information PDF file (6.7 MB)
- Contract Award for Supply and Delivery of Enclosed Trailers PDF file (129 KB)
- Social Policy Lease Extension and Grant Approvals PDF file (254 KB)
After that, the Standing Committee approved the following reports and Council members’ motions:

- Electric Passenger Ferry Service PDF file (419 KB)
- Holodomor Memorial Statue: Honouring Ukrainian-Canadians PDF file (120 KB)
- Back to Community: Establishing Strategic Priorities and Consolidating Council Direction for the 2027–2030 Capital Plan PDF file (167 KB)
- Renewal of British Columbia Board Position with the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) PDF file (105 KB)
- Enabling a Process for a Major Sports Initiative in Vancouver PDF file (124 KB)
- Recognising the International Day of Older Persons as an Official Celebration and Observance PDF file (117 KB)
- Reconciling Provincial Housing Funding with Mandated Housing Targets PDF file (114 KB) – with an amendment

Council members’ motion Restoring Lifeguard Services at Key Vancouver Beaches PDF file (118 KB) was referred to Vancouver Park Board. No Penalties for Vehicle Shelter During FIFA PDF file (114 KB) was not approved.
