Roundup of Business at City Council for the week of March 31, 2025
City Council met this week to hear and discuss a variety of topics during Council and Standing Committee on Policy and Strategic Priorities.
Tuesday, April 1
This week’s meeting began with Council’s presentation of the proclamation for Eid al-Fitr. This was followed by approval of the following items on consent:
After that, Council approved staff report, Strata Title Conversion of 4288 Yew Street PDF file (150 KB), with an amendment.
Council also approved By-laws 1-19 PDF file (26.5 MB), and administrative motion, Regulatory Changes Toward 3-3-3-1 Permitting Targets PDF file (370 KB).
Wednesday, April 2
The Standing Committee on Policy and Strategic Priorities began with the approval of the following items on consent:
- Approval of Change Orders to Professional Services Agreement No. PS20220048-ENG-RFP Consultant for Trenchless Sewer Design and Contract Administration PDF file (270 KB)
- Contract Award for Construction Services for Upgrading the Thornton Pump Station PDF file (115 KB)
After that, the Standing Committee approved the following reports and Council members’ motions:
- Vancouver Fire Rescue Services Wildfire Risk Report PDF file (1.3 MB) – with an amendment
- Change Order to Consulting Services Agreement for the Healthy Waters Plan PDF file (146 KB)
- Supporting Local Businesses: A Proactive Approach to Retail Security PDF file (117 KB) – with an amendment
A Council meeting was convened immediately following the Standing Committee meeting during which Council approved the recommendations and actions of the preceding Standing Committee on Policy and Strategic Priorities.
