Vancouver City Council met this week to hear and discuss a variety of topics during Council and Standing Committee on City Finance and Services meetings.
Tuesday, July 22
This week’s meeting began with Council’s presentation of the proclamation for Emancipation. This was followed by approval of the following items on consent:
- Change to Council Meeting Schedule PDF file (129 KB)
- Appointments of Council Liaisons to Advisory Committees, Task Force and Policy Council PDF file (90 KB)
- Miscellaneous Amendments Concerning Various CD-1 By-laws PDF file (71 KB)
- Auditor General Committee Recommendations Transmittal Report PDF file (1 MB)
After that, Council received a presentation on the 2025 Annual Climate Plan Update PDF file (5.6 MB) and approved the following reports and referral report:
- Liquor Establishments and Restaurants Regulatory Review PDF file (2.3 MB) – with amendments
- 320 Union Street – Single Room Accommodation (SRA) By-law Demolition Permit PDF file (878 KB)
- Standardized Apartment Districts and City-Initiated Zoning Changes to Implement Broadway Plan and Cambie Corridor Plan PDF file (49.1 MB)
The Report Back – 897 Granville Street – Sign By-law Amendment was withdrawn.
Council also approved By-laws 1-19 PDF file (2.6 MB), By-laws 20-30 PDF file (30 MB) and the following new business items:

- Appointment to UBCM Executive
Wednesday, July 23
The Standing Committee on City Finance and Services meeting began with the adoption of the following reports on consent:

- Contract Award for Supply of Contracted Janitorial Services PDF file (66 KB)
