Stanley Park to see traffic impacts in September from events and projects

August 30 2024 –

In September, Stanley Park will host a series of large-scale events in addition to operational activities that will result in traffic impacts throughout the park. Congestion is expected, particularly at park exits and entrances.

The Park Board is asking visitors to consider leaving their vehicles at home, or park outside the park. Alternative modes of transportation, such as public transit, walking, biking and rolling will be the most efficient ways to get to and around the park during these special events. Further, reducing non-essential vehicle travel, will help ensure people with disabilities and accessibility needs can and are able to access the park.

Traffic Impacts

  • Select roads and parking lots will be temporarily closed. More details below
  • Congestion at the entrance to Stanley Park from Georgia Street and the exit from North Lagoon Drive, as vehicles merge with Lions Gate Bridge traffic
  • Signage will be in place to indicate diversions
