Traffic impacts for ongoing tree work in Stanley Park
Those looking to cycle, drive or roll through Stanley Park in the next fortnight should expect intermittent pauses to their journeys as essential tree work is conducted throughout.
On Friday, October 20, stops of up to 15 minutes, followed by ten minute openings to traffic, will be in place along Pipeline Road, followed by the same schedule on Stanley Park Drive from October 23 to 27. Tunnel Trail is closed until November 3.
These temporary closures are in place to allow large machinery access across main thoroughfares and create safe active work zones as overhead tree work is underway. Though efforts will be made to minimize disruption as much as possible, visitors should expect delays and plan accordingly. All users are asked to obey directions from staff and contractors on site for their, and others’, safety.
This essential work is a continuation of the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation’s efforts to manage trees impacted by the ongoing hemlock looper moth infestation and subsequent years of drought.
