Unofficial 2025 Vancouver by-election results

April 6 2025 –

Vancouver voters have elected two new City Council members.

The official results will be declared by the Chief Election Officer on Wednesday, April 9. 

In the meantime, the unofficial results are as follows:  

Councillors (two to be elected) 

  1. ORR, Sean - COPE: 34,448 
  2. MALONEY, Lucy - OneCity: 33,732

Voter turnout

Approximately 67,962 ballots were cast, of 450,503 registered voters, and voter turnout was approximately 15.09%. This reflects a 40% increase in voter turnout from the 2017 by-election, when 48,645 ballots were cast. 

Additionally, 5430 ballots were cast by mail, which represents roughly 8% of the voter turnout.

In this by-election, all eligible Vancouver voters had the chance to vote by mail, vote in advance during two advance voting days at City Hall, and vote on Election Day at 25 locations.
