  Playoffs in the Park - starting May 12

  Outdoor, free, family-friendly, alcohol-free event

  Starting Sunday, May 12, Oak Meadows Park will come alive with the sounds of "Go, Canucks, Go!” as we host Playoffs in the Park, a free, family-friendly public viewing event. 

  The viewing area will be set up in the park at Oak Street and West 37th Avenue. Bring a blanket or chair, and settle in to watch the action on the big screen. Porta potties will be available on site. The event will take place rain or shine so be sure to dress for the weather and bring an extra layer as it can get cool outside as the sun sets.

  Note This is an unlicensed event and no alcohol is permitted. There will not be any food available for purchase at the event. We encourage residents to bring their own water, food, and non-alcoholic beverages in reusable or recyclable containers. A water station is available next to the park, for staying hydrated. 

  Note Well-behaved, licensed dogs are permitted at the Playoffs in the Park event but must be kept on leash and under control at all times. To protect the field, owners must pick up after their pets and not allow them to dig. A separate, off-leash area is located at the west side of the park.

  Tips for attending Playoffs in the Park

  • Street parking is limited. Walk, bike, roll, or take transit if possible.
  • Dispose of your waste in the nearest garbage or recycling bin.
  • For group gatherings, plan ahead and use the “pack-in, pack-out” method. Bring your waste home with you so it can be sorted into the proper stream.
  • Be considerate of the community and keep noise to a minimum when leaving the event.

  Select community centres and library branches across the city will be showing the games during regular opening hours, giving you a chance to gather with your neighbours throughout the playoffs.

  Playoffs at the PNE 

  In addition to the viewing options described in Round 2, we are planning an outdoor licensed public viewing experience for home and away games at the PNE starting in Round 3, with capacity for 6,000 fans. Bring your white towels!
