Travel delays expected as work starts next week in Davie Village
September 3 2026 –
Construction begins next week on transportation and public realm upgrades to Davie Street between Jervis and Thurlow streets in the heart of Davie Village. Work will be sequenced to reduce impacts on businesses and the community. Construction is expected to be completed in spring 2028.
Those travelling through the area advised to expect delays while construction is underway.
Once complete, Davie Village will have a more welcoming and accessible public realm, supporting businesses and making it easier for people to access shops and services in this busy commercial area.
Impacts to travellers
- Drivers: Expect reduced lanes, road closures and detours, and parking restrictions throughout the project.
- Walking: Temporary detours will be in place.
- Transit: Bus service will be maintained with temporary relocated stops. Keep up to date on the latest transit alerts and bus services at translink.ca/alerts External website, opens in new tab
