Weekend traffic alert for Vancouver
Significant lane closures on Georgia Viaduct, Lions Gate Bridge and Stanley Park Causeway
On Saturday, February 3rd and Sunday, February 4th the Georgia Viaduct and Stanley Park Causeway/Lions Gate Bridge will undergo significant closures to enable safe construction and essential tree removal work. People traveling these routes should expect detours, delays and transit changes.
There will be a full closure of the Georgia Viaduct to enable safe set-up of a tower crane. Outside of working hours, between 8pm Saturday and 6am Sunday, one eastbound lane will be re-opened on the Viaduct. The work is being done by Peak Construction Group for a development site.
The Lions Gate Bridge and Stanley Park Causeway will have a full closure Sunday morning and single lane closures at other times throughout the weekend. This closure is to support essential continued work to remove trees impacted by the hemlock looper moth infestation in Stanley Park.
