Emergency Preparedness in Vancouver

Emergencies happen anytime, anywhere, without warning. As a result, the term "emergency preparedness" can appear to be an oxymoron, but there are things we can all do to make emergency situations a little easier to deal with. The City's Emergency Preparedness site offers some basic information about preparing your home, work site, and your family for disaster situations. It also provides a run-down of some of the programs and initiatives the City runs or participates in that aim to provide for the well-being of its citizens.

Emergency Preparedness Week 2012

Each year, across Canada the first full week of May is dedicated as EP Week. This is a great reminder to all our Vancouver residents that we live in an area that could be impacted by an earthquake and it is important for you, your family and your pets to be prepared. When we have a large event such as an earthquake, you and your family could be on your own for several days making it essential you are prepared. It has been proven time and time again - people who are prepared will get through the event much better than those who are not prepared. Learn what you and your family need to do to be prepared for disasters by attending our free EP Sessions.
