Recycle BC is making changes to the multi-family recycling program for apartments and condos in Vancouver, including new collection contractors and an expanded list of accepted materials.
New recycling collection contractors for apartments and condos
- Recycling Alternative – Downtown and False Creek
- Emterra Environmental – All other areas
Information icon As of February 16, 2026, Waste Management of Canada will no longer provide recycling collection for Recycle BC’s multi-family program.
Flexible plastics accepted in the multi-family recycling program
A new pink recycling cart for flexible plastics will be delivered to your building in the coming weeks.
Information icon These changes only affect Recycle BC’s multi-family program (apartments, condos). Curbside recycling for houses and duplexes is still handled by GFL Environmental and is not changing at this time.

Recycling collection services in Vancouver
We do not provide recycling collection services. Recycle BC is the province-wide program responsible for residential recycling services across BC, including curbside and multi-family recycling in Vancouver.
