Serracan Properties has submitted a rezoning application to redevelop 725 Southeast Marine Drive in the Sunset neighbourhood.
The 1.8-acre site is currently occupied by a Super 8 Hotel.
The proposal is to rezone the site to permit a new mixed-use development with commercial, residential, and community uses, including public open space.
Before the rezoning application, we completed a planning study and considerable public consultation.
These requirements come from the Sunset Community Vision adopted by Council in 2002 after a comprehensive three-year community planning process.
A rezoning application for the site was submitted on November 25, 2015.
