Mass casualty incident after Lapu Lapu Day Festival

Mobile Community Support Centre

Vancouver Police are available to provide support to individuals impacted by the mass casualty incident at the Lapu Lapu Day festival at their Mobile Community Support Centre:

• Location: 43rd Avenue and Fraser Street
• Hours: 
  • Thursday, May 1, noon to 8pm
  • Friday, May 2, noon to 8pm 
  • Saturday, May 3 and Sunday, May 4, 10am to 8pm 

This is a safe space for the public to access information, support, and resources. Staff can also connect people to investigators, if they are potential witnesses. VPD professionals are still available by phone at 604-717-3321 for anyone who can't attend in person.

Resilience Centre 

Filipino BC is collaborating with partners to set up a temporary Resilience Centre to support the community.

• Location: Killarney Secondary School - 6454 Killarney Street, Vancouver, in the cafeteria 
• Hours: 
  • Saturday, May 3, 10:30am to 2:30pm 
  • Tuesday, May 6, 5pm to 9pm

The Resilience Centre is a gathering space for community members to come together, connect, and access wellness and coping supports from a variety of faith-based, non-profit, and government agencies. Wellness resources will be available, and helping professionals will be on hand if you would like to speak with someone.

ICBC has put together a dedicated team and resources for victims, witnesses, and family members of those impacted by this event.

VictimLinkBC is a toll-free, confidential, multilingual service available across BC and the Yukon 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and can be accessed by:

It provides information and referral services to all victims of crime and immediate crisis support to victims of family and sexual violence, including victims of human trafficking exploited for labour or sexual services.
