Park Board meetings and decisions

Scheduled evening meetings are at 2099 Beach Avenue, to discuss staff reports, review Park Board policy and projects, and plan for the future. Each meeting is structured around a list of topics for discussion and the rules of order are carefully followed. Occasionally, an extraordinary meeting may be called.

Meetings begin at 7:00pm in the Board Room. Seating is available and the public is welcome. The meeting room is equipped to assist those with hearing disabilities, and is wheelchair-accessible.

Agendas for upcoming meetings will be posted about one week before the meeting. Minutes from previous meetings will be posted as soon as they are available, usually about one week before the next meeting.

To speak about a topic on the agenda, please sign up in advance.

Regular Park Board meetings
Regular Board meetings are held approximately two Mondays a month, following Committee meetings. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Special Park Board meetings
Special Park Board meetings are held to deal with emerging issues. They are held in the boardroom of the Park Board office.

In-camera meetings of the Park Board
These meetings deal with sensitive or confidential Park Board business and are closed to the public. The Park Board is authorized to hold in-camera meetings only under the circumstances set out in the Vancouver Charter.

Public participation

The Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation welcomes public input. You can:

Review the documents. Meeting minutes, reports and studies, park plans, by-laws and more are available for public review. If you need help, contact the Meeting Coordinator at 604-257-8453.
Contact a Park Board commissioner or staff by phone or in writing. If in writing, address correspondence to the General Manager. Your letter will be acknowledged and directed to the appropriate person, who will be in touch with you.
Attend a public meeting, held frequently on issues or projects under consideration. Watch for advance notice on the website and social media.
Attend a committee or board meeting. Committee and Park Board meetings are scheduled regularly.
