Canada Place closed to general traffic June 30 to July 5

Expect heavy congestion in the area and plan ahead

June 27 2025 –

From June 30 to July 5, Canada Place will be closed to general traffic to accommodate Canada Together events and busy conference activity at the Vancouver Convention Centre.  Access via Howe Street will be limited to taxis, buses and hotel guests destined to the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel, Pan Pacific Hotel and Canada Place cruise terminal only. 

Ride-hailing vehicles picking up or dropping off guests at the Pan Pacific and Fairmont Waterfront hotels will be permitted to access Howe Street. Ride-hailing vehicles can drop off cruise passengers on the lower P2 level of the terminal, accessible via Main Street and Waterfront Road. Cruise-related ride-hailing vehicles need to pick up on 1000 W Cordova.

The 800 and 900-blocks of Cordova Street will also be closed July 1st for Canada Together events. 

To support these changes, Howe Street between Cordova Street and Canada Place will operate as a two-way road from late June onwards.  The portion of Canada Place between Howe and Burrard streets will continue to operate one-way westbound as part of our Canada Place one-way pilot.
