Urban Indigenous Peoples
In Vancouver, we often distinguish between urban Indigenous Peoples (people who live away from their traditional territories) and Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh peoples. But this doesn’t mean Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh people don’t live in urban areas.
Vancouver has the third largest urban Indigenous population of any Canadian city.
