Activation of Underutilized Vancouver Civic Theatres Spaces Grant

The Underutilized Vancouver Civic Theatres Spaces Grant is a pilot to:

  1. Address the need for space by arts and cultural groups in our city
  2. Increase the use of our civic theatre spaces
  3. Enhance Vancouver's status as a liveable city

The grant helps successful applicants rent the following Vancouver Civic Theatre spaces to hold community events about local food, health, wellness, and diversity:

For 2017, we're granting a total of $150,000. We're accepting applications throughout the year on a first-come, first-served basis.

Eligible applicants

  • Not-for-profit, local, and community-driven groups
  • Arts organizations and artists

Eligible projects

This grant is available for community events that celebrate local food, health, wellness, and social and cultural diversity.

This grant for venue rental fees only.

It can't be used for:

  • Additional costs like crew overtime
  • Insurance premiums
  • Food and beverage fees
  • Ancillary requests of venue staff
  • Security
