Leek House, 2013 Heritage Award winner

Heritage Awards

We recognize the accomplishments of people and organizations who help protect Vancouver's diverse built heritage and history

We hold the Heritage Awards every other year to acknowledge the special accomplishments, projects, and efforts that further our goal of heritage conservation in Vancouver.

Protecting Vancouver's heritage buildings and sites – in part by raising public awareness of heritage issues through advocacy and education – helps:

  • Sustain our diverse communities and traditions
  • Strengthen community identity and boost tourism
  • Reuse buildings and materials

Nominations open in the fall and we present the awards the following spring.

Anyone can make a nomination for projects that meet the criteria. Nominated projects don't need to be protected or on the Heritage Register.
