  Application process

  How to apply online

  You must create an applicant profile through MyImpactPage.com External website, opens in new tab, under ‘I am new to MyImpactPage.com’.  

  If you have previously worked as a City of Vancouver election official, log in with your existing username under ‘I already have a username’. 

  If you have any issues creating a profile or logging in to an existing profile, email electionwork@vancouver.ca. 

  Getting contacted

  We are unable to respond to every applicant due to the high volume of applications received. Only applicants who are being considered will be contacted. Applicants that are being considered are usually contacted within 1 week after the closing date. 

  Online testing for applicants 

  If the position you are being considered for requires testing, the recruitment team will connect with you by email. 

  Working during advance voting and on election day 

  You must work election day on Saturday, April 5, 2025. Advance voting is optional, and applicants can provide their advance voting availability in the application. Shifts for advance voting are very limited.

  Choosing which areas of the city to work 

  You can provide this information in the application. We will do our best to accommodate your preferences but cannot guarantee specific locations as it will be based on operational needs.

  Training

  You will need to attend mandatory training sessions for your assigned role.

  Training will occur in March 2025. There will be a variety of days, evenings, and weekends to choose from.

  Compensation

  Getting paid and when

  You will be paid in April 2025 by direct deposit. You will need to submit a void cheque or a date stamped direct deposit form from the bank. If you don't have a bank account you will get paid by cheque and it will be mailed out to the address you provide to us.

  Payment will be made upon completion of all voting assignments.

  Who needs to pay the Canada Pension Plan (CPP) disability pension

  People under the age of 18 or over the age of 70 are automatically exempt from paying CPP.

  If you are between 65 and 70 and would like to be exempt from the CPP deductions, you must complete the CPT30 form External website, opens in new tab and submit it to the recruitment team on or before March 14, 2025.

  How to handle mistakes with your pay

  How to get your T4

  It will be mailed to your mailing address no later than February 28, 2026. If you change your mailing address, inform payroll as soon as possible. You can send your updated mailing address to payroll@vancouver.ca.
