If you own property in Vancouver but live in another municipality in BC, you may still be eligible to vote in the 2026 Vancouver Election as a non-resident property elector (NRPE).
Register as a non-resident property elector
There are 3 ways to register:
- In advance by August 25 at 4pm – in person at the Vancouver Election Office (opens July 20) or by emailing [email protected]
- At a voting place on a voting day
- While applying to vote by mail (starting September 8)
To apply, you will need to:
- Complete an application for registration as a non-resident property elector and consent of registered owners form PDF file (882 KB) (if there are multiple owners)
- Provide 2 pieces of identification:
- Both must show your name
- 1 must include your address
- 1 must include your signature
- Provide proof of ownership of the Vancouver property (such as property tax notice, assessment notice, or certificate of title)
