Workplace restoration

Workplace restoration is an approach to addressing conflict that seeks to restore or repair relationships, instead of focusing on fault or blame. It aims to create a shared understanding of the intentions and resulting impacts of harmful behaviour or interactions.

Restoration processes are complementary to making complaints and investigation processes. This means they can be used instead of, during or after an investigation.

If you have felt harassed, disrespected or uncomfortable at work and do not feel like you can address the issue directly with the other party involved, you have choices. Those choices are outlined in the City's Respect in the Workplace policy. One option is to request a restoration process.
