Amenities

Information icon If you intend on using our AV system, we strongly recommend arranging an AV test with our staff prior to your event so that you are comfortable with the equipment and you are certain your media works on our system.

A basic rental of 4 hours includes:

• Set-up
• The event itself
• Clean-up

Service staff requirement

Information icon At least 1 facility attendant is required if food and beverages are being served. One facility attendant is required for every 50 attendees.

Pre-event set up

We will collaborate with you to configure the Celebration Hall for your needs. This will include chair arrangement, podium placement, and table setup if needed. 

Weekdays

• Hours: 9am to 4pm
• Advance booking required: At least 48 hours notice
• Fees: Regular event fees

After-hours (Evenings)

• Hours: 4pm to 9pm
• Advance booking required: At least 72 hours notice
• Fees: Overtime event fees

Weekends and Holidays

• Hours: 10am to 4pm
• Advance booking required: At least 72 hours notice
• Fees: Overtime event fees

Parking is available across from the Celebration Hall and along the roads north and west of the hall.

Avoid parking directly next to the cemetery office or occupying the temporary spots in front, as these are reserved for office visitors only.

Respect your rental time, our staff, and other renters by arriving on-time (not early) and cleaning up during your allotted rental time.

It is the renter’s responsibility to get the appropriate permits and additional insurance for any events that include alcohol. We can assist with this process. 

Arrival and event preparation

We are a busy cemetery, so we kindly ask that you arrive on time to avoid disrupting other scheduled services.

Before your event, we will place 2 signs with the name of your event or the deceased outside our office and the Celebration Hall to guide attendees.

We will set up the tables and chairs according to your request and activate the AV system (if required) for your event.

During your event

We will open the Celebration Hall at the start of your rental. You may then carry out any personal setup for your event. While we will not be present during the event, we are available in the office if needed.

Post-event procedures

At the end of your event, we will check that everything is cleaned up and set-up for any other events that day.

Celebration Hall contract

When you book your memorial service or event, Mountain View Cemetery requires that you sign a Celebration Hall contract (This will be emailed to you once you make the booking). 

This contract contains:

• Event date
• Event start and end times
• The signature of the person organizing the event (who will also act as the key contact)

Other information we will require:

• Number of attendees
• Food and alcohol availability
• Name of deceased (if applicable)

Beyond the basic rental fee, other event fees may include:

• An additional hour (if more than 4 hours is required for setup, the event, and teardown).
• Facility attendant fees (required if any food or beverages are being provided)
• Overtime fees (if the event is outside of business hours or goes beyond the agreed-upon timeframe)

Mountain View Cemetery accepts payments via major credit cards, debit cards, and cheque (made payable to ‘City of Vancouver’). Information icon Payments in cash are not accepted.
