Exchange vows in a private and intimate wedding ceremony surrounded by your closest loved ones in the Council Chamber.

Micro-weddings inside City Hall are 30-minute ceremonies for couples, officiants, and witnesses.

Steps to booking a micro-wedding

Step 1: Review what to expect and bring

On designated weekdays in 2024:
- Option A: Wedding ceremonies of up to 20 people will be available at $605 plus GST
- Option B: Wedding ceremonies of up to 10 people will be available at $302.50 plus GST
The above prices are set and represent the minimum price per ceremony. Option B weddings are only offered on Mondays, which are reserved exclusively for Option B weddings.

Additional guests can be included for an extra charge of $30.25 plus GST per person.
- Option A allows a maximum of 10 add-on attendees.
- Option B allows a maximum of 9 add-on attendees.
Timeslots will be offered between 9:30am and 3:30pm, and you may specify your top 3 dates and times when making your wedding request.

Wedding ceremony only; receptions are not permitted. Be prepared to bring your own hired officiant, marriage licence, photographer, and decorations.

City Hall has a no-scent policy

- Bring two witnesses
Guests
- To become legally married, a minimum of five people, including the couple, officiant, and 2 witnesses are required to attend the wedding ceremony in person.
- Our maximum capacity for each wedding ceremony option includes guests, the couple, and all hired vendors (examples: photographers and officiants).
- We recommend inviting additional guests virtually. You are welcome to bring a tripod and set up a device to record your wedding day within your 30-minute time slot. Wi-Fi will be available.
- We accept wedding groups into City Hall 30 minutes before your wedding time slot.
Decorations
- Couples have the flexibility to decorate but are not obligated to do so. Most couples do not decorate.
- Decorations should be set up and taken down within the 30-minute designated time slot. You may not arrive early to decorate.
- Must be zero-waste, and vases for flower bouquets may not contain any water.
- Do not attach decorations using tape, tacks, or nails on any surfaces within City Hall.
- No balloons, bubbles, or throwing litter inside or outside City Hall (includes confetti and rice).
Photographers
- Couples may hire their own photographers.
- Review suggested non-exclusive photo locations on City Hall grounds.
- We cannot guarantee access to outdoor photo locations.
Cars and parking
- Two wedding cars and one officiant car may park for free for the duration of the ceremony in a designated area (enter from 12^th Avenue westbound lane or Yukon Street). Please move your car if staying after the ceremony for photos.
- Guests may find available pay parking around City Hall on the day of your wedding.

Step 2: Review location details
- Micro-weddings held at City Hall are short 30-minute ceremonies designed for couples, officiants, and witnesses.
- The couple will stand together in the centre of the Council Chamber with the hired officiant. Guests are welcome to sit or stand during the ceremony. Refer to the floor plan.
- Many ceremonies are done within 15 minutes and couples use the remaining time to take photos.
- Ring the ceremonial ship’s bell above the doors to the Council Chamber after the wedding to celebrate your big day.

Cancellation and refund policy
- You may reschedule if you contact us at least 60 days prior, and if a new time is available within four months of the original date.
- One reschedule is permitted
- No refunds
Insurance
- Included for groups of 25 people or fewer
- Additional flat fee of $15 for groups of 26 to 29 people
