PNE amphitheatre renewal

Hastings Park-PNE Master Plan

Hastings Park is one of Vancouver’s largest urban parks, encompassing 165 acres and drawing visitors from across the region each year.

The amphitheatre renewal is part of the Hastings Park-PNE Master Plan (5.8 MB), which guides the renewal of the park and aims to create a destination for residents and visitors.

We have been working alongside the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) to renew the PNE amphitheatre located in Hastings Park.

The amphitheatre renewal will support more access to:

  • Music
  • Culture
  • Multi-functional outdoor space for a variety of users

What's happeningConstruction underway until 2026

New key features

  • A free-span timber roof
  • Increased capacity (maximum capacity approximately 10,000)
  • Covered seating
  • Accessible washrooms

Prioritizing noise control

Increasing sound mitigation from the PNE amphitheatre into the surrounding neighbourhood is a priority for the project. We are working with an acoustic engineer, and the amphitheatre is being designed with sound attenuation in mind.
