What you need to know

Not all agenda items allow speakers. Check the agenda to find out which items you can sign up to speak about. 

  • You can submit written comments about any agenda item, even if it doesn't allow speakers. Submit written comments
  • You may speak by phone or in person. 
  • You may not speak at a closed (in-camera) Council meeting. 
  • Agendas are typically posted 1 week before each Council meeting and 10 days before each public hearing.

Some agenda items may remain on the agenda over multiple meeting days or be referred from 1 meeting type to another.

  • City-wide Design and Development Guidelines and Related Actions 
  • Below Market Lease Extension to Affordable Housing Societies for The Street Homes 
  • Short-Term Below Market Lease and Grant to Northern Way Housing Co-operative at 675 East 5th Avenue 
  • 1475 Kitchener Street – Lease Extension and Amendment with Lu’ma Native Housing Society 
  • Arts, Culture and Community Services Sublease, Lease and Licence Agreements and Grant Approvals
  • Miscellaneous Amendments Concerning Various Housing Rezoning Conditions and Housing Agreements 
  •  2027 Business Licence, Vehicles for Hire, Animal Control Fees 
  • Auditor General Committee Recommendations Transmittal Report 
  • 2026 UBCM Conference – Sponsorship of Programming

The deadline to request to speak to the above items is Monday, July 27, 2026, at 5 pm. Speakers will have 3 minutes to speak to Council.

July 28, 2026 (reconvening from July 21, 2026) Public Hearing

  1. Modification to Conditions of Approval and By-law Enactment for 450-496 Prior Street, 550 Malkin Avenue, 1002 Station Street and 1050 Gore Avenue
  2. Vancouver ODP Amendment and CD-1 Rezoning: 2396-2400 Kingsway and 2441-2493 East 33rd Avenue
  3. CD-1 Rezoning: 1905 Ogden Avenue

The deadline to request to speak for the above items is Tuesday, July 28 2026, at 5 pm for online requests. You can also register in person on the day of the hearing, between 5:30 pm and 6 pm at City Hall.

You can also speak to the item by calling in with the number provided on the live stream during the meeting.
