The Integrity Commissioner, as an independent officer on a two-year term, is responsible for carrying out the duties and responsibilities set out in section 5.7 of the Code of Conduct By-Law No. 12886 PDF file (214 KB).
The duties and responsibilities for the Integrity Commissioner include:
- Receiving complaints under the Code of Conduct
- Conducting an initial review to decide how a complaint should proceed under the Code
- Overseeing the complaint process in line with Code of Conduct procedures
- Making sure complaints are handled in line with the Code, including through informal resolution or investigation when needed
- Providing advice to Council members and Advisory Board members on the application of the Code of Conduct

Tracey Lorenson is a governance and leadership consultant with extensive experience supporting Councils and senior administrative teams across Canada.
Trained as a lawyer, she has spent more than 2 decades working with local governments on ethical governance, leadership development, and Council–CAO relations.
