Renting Celebration Hall and Courtyard

Welcome to Celebration Hall, an elegant and contemporary gathering place on the sweeping grounds of historic Mountain View Cemetery.

Through the large windows carefully placed to maximize natural light, or from a seat by the pond in the private courtyard, visitors to Celebration Hall can look out over grassy lawns and lush trees to downtown Vancouver and the snow-capped Coast Mountains.

It’s a perfect setting not only for memorial services, but also for a wide range of other events, from corporate retreats, client appreciation events or employee incentive gatherings to film screenings and small concerts.

Celebration Hall offers a spacious reception area and the light-filled Caradoc Room, which is perfect for meetings or sit-down lunches and dinners, thanks to the large, well-equipped hallkitchen. The adjoining courtyard provides a beautiful setting for conversation or solitude.

There is a growing realization in North America that cemeteries, particularly older ones like Mountain View, offer an ideal setting in which to engage with both history and nature. The beautifully open design of Celebration Hall allows visitors to connect immediately with the rich history and culture that the cemetery holds. At the same time, the enclosed, peaceful courtyard and the cool, quiet rooms create an atmosphere of calm and comfort and a welcome respite and retreat.

SPACES

The Celebration Hall & Courtyard consists of two spaces, Reception and Caradoc. Reception includes coat-check facilities, washroom facilities (including a private accessible washroom) and a service kitchen for caterers. The service kitchen has a private entrance located off of the main road.

Celebration Hall is fully wheelchair accessible

RECEPTION

Reception is designed to be incorporated into your event. It can be used as a reception space prior to dining in Caradoc, or used in conjunction with Caradoc for a reception.

CARADOC

This beautiful space with its hanging lights is suited for seated meals, presentations or receptions. It is equipped with a built-in lcd projector, bose ceiling speakers and a wall suitable for projections.

Innovative Buildings

The architectural firm of Birmingham and Wood, well known for their role in developing West Coast modernist architecture, designed Celebration Hall with their unique attention to the materials and landscape of the Pacific North West.

The many “green” features of the building include energy-efficient windows, storm water collection, and the use of locally available, rapidly renewable building supplies. Natural ventilation and non-toxic carpets and finishes help ensure that the building is a comfortable and healthy space.
