Summary

The creation of the Green Homes Program has put Vancouver at the forefront of sustainable development home construction practices in North America. New houses in our community will save energy, water, and money, while providing an improved indoor environment in which to live. They will be able to adapt to future energy generation technologies, as they become available, as well as power the next generation of personal automobiles.

But this is just the beginning. In order to meet our 2020 and 2030 GHG emission reduction targets, the Program will need to be updated on a regular basis, bringing us ever closer to our GHG-neutral goal each time. Check back often for news on planned changes, as well as opportunities for you to provide input on what should be included in the next update to the Green Homes Program.
