On Thursday, October 6th, Mayor Gregor Robertson will present the 2011 Awards to valued members of Vancouver's cultural community. Selected by a peer jury, those being honoured represent a wide array of disciplines in 10 areas ranging from culinary arts to performing arts, and include those who support the arts in four categories.

 

STUDIO ARTS ::

The Peer jury for these awards was comprised of the following past recipients and significant community members:

Community Arts - Terry Hunter, Savannah Walling, Richard Tetrault; Carmen Rosen
Craft & Design - Paul Yard, Paul Mathieu; Ruth Scheuing
Culinary Arts – Michel Jacob, Robert Lecrom, Bruno Marti; Frank Pabst

The Selection Process

Honourees were chosen by a jury of peers for having made a significant contribution to their respective disciplines, and for showing leadership, innovation and support for Vancouver’s cultural community over the course of their careers.

Each Honouree was invited to select an Emerging Artist in their discipline who demonstrates the promise of the next generation.

Honourees and Emerging Artists each receive a cash award from the City of Vancouver in the amount of $2,500.
