Cultural Grants Program

The program is intended to support a range of artistic and cultural activity including literary, visual, media, dance, theatre, music, multi-disciplinary, inter-disciplinary, Aboriginal, and community-based arts, reflecting different historic cultural traditions as well contemporary art forms and practises. The program provides grants to support ongoing annual activity through Operating assistance as well as one-time or time-limited initiatives through Project assistance.

Please note: If you received assistance through the Diversity Initiatives or Celebration Grants programs in the past, you may be eligible for assistance under this program or you may be eligible under the new Community and Neighbourhood Arts Development Program (pilot).

The program is open to eligible non profit arts and cultural organizations and supports a number of organizations and activities including:

• The creation, production and dissemination of work
• Collaborative initiatives between professional artists and community members
• Arts and Culture Service Organizations and Facilities
• Theatre rental assistance for emerging and established organizations for performances in one of the Vancouver Civic Theatres
• Special requests for audio recordings, publications, film, video or web-based initiatives
• Arts or Cultural conferences (production or attendance)
• Artistic Residencies
• Artistic or Administrative Mentorship
