Land Use and Development Policies and Guidelines

Explanation of amendments since January 1, 2009

The Vancouver Heritage Register (pdf, 327 kb) is updated to reflect Council's approval of additions, deletions and address changes on June 16, 2009, other individual additions up to September 8, 2009, clarification to the introductory section on commonly asked questions, and updated contact information;
Office Conversion Policy (pdf, 207 kb) has been amended to include new areas in the DODP, as adopted by Council on October 22, 2009;
Principal Dwelling Unit combined with a Secondary Dwelling Unit Guidelines (pdf, 65 kb) were adopted by Council on September 8, 2009;
C-2B, C-2C and C-2C1 Guidelines (pdf, 97 kb) have had height and front yard setbacks revisions made, as adopted by Council on September 8, 2009;
Community Amenity Contributions - Through Rezonings (pdf, 472 kb) has had the map on page 2 updated to include Southeast False Creek;
Strata Title Policies for RS, RT and RM Zones (pdf, 62 kb) have been added to the RS, RT and RM lists, having been adopted by Council on July 28, 2009;
Strata Title Policies for RS-7, and RT Zones have been removed. Refer instead to Strata Title Policies for RS, RT and RM Zones;
Laneway House (LWH) Guidelines (pdf, 72 kb) have been added to the RS list, having been adopted by Council on July 28, 2009;
Water Wise Landscape Guidelines (online only) (pdf, 449 kb) were adopted by Council on July 21, 2009;
RS‑6 Explanatory Notes (pdf, 1.87 mb) have been updated to reflect new height limits detailed in the Zoning and Development By-law amendments, enacted by Council on July 21, 2009;
Burrard Slopes IC Districts Interim Rezoning Policies and Guidelines (pdf, 889 kb) had an explanatory note inserted to advise staff and applicants on potential limits on future residential development in the area;
East Vancouver Port Lands CD-1 Guidelines (pdf, 332 kb) were adopted on June 16, 2009;
Office Conversion Policy (pdf, 255 kb) was adopted by Council on June 16, 2009;
Rezoning Policy for the Central Business District (CBD) and CBD Shoulder (pdf, 291 kb) was adopted by Council on June 16, 2009;
Urban Agriculture Guidelines for the Private Realm (pdf, 104 kb) has been updated with a revised Appendix B revealing the sublime, poetic, rambling plant descriptions of one of our landscape architects;
"Beer and Wine" Store Guidelines have been deleted from the list. Refer instead to Liquor Store Guidelines (pdf, 270 kb);
False Creek Flats Rezoning Policy: Additional General Office Use in “High Technology” Districts (pdf, 125 kb) has been added to the list, having been adopted by Council on April 7, 2009;
Urban Agriculture Guidelines for the Private Realm (pdf, 96 kb) has been added to the list, having been adopted by Council on January 20, 2009;
The following documents have had minor revisions to the name of the document, Seniors Supportive and Assisted Housing Guidelines (pdf, 73 kb), Small Scale Pharmacy - Location and Operation Guidelines (pdf, 62 kb) and North of Hastings and Railway Street Industrial Areas Policy Directions (pdf, 67 kb), effective March 10, 2009;
The EcoDensity Charter (pdf, 412 kb), Rezoning Policy for Greener Buildings (pdf, 57 kb) and Rezoning Policy for Greener Larger Sites (pdf, 70 kb) are added to the General Policies and Guidelines list, having been adopted by Council on June 10, 2008;
Community Amenity Contributions - Through Rezonings (pdf, 683 kb) has been amended to include area specific fees for Southeast False Creek, as approved by Council in June 2006;
Strata Title and Cooperative Conversion Guidelines (pdf, 80 kb) have been amended to reflect new fees, effective January 1, 2009; and
The Index (pdf, 26 kb) has been revised to reflect changes up to January 1, 2009.
