Program Process
Phase 1 | Phase 2 | Implementation | Phase 3
The Cambie Corridor Planning Program is set out as a phased program. A summary of the program process is below.

Phase 1 (Completed)
Phase 1 of the Cambie Corridor Planning Program delivered a set of Planning Principles for the Corridor as well as an Interim Rezoning Policy, adopted by Council on January 22, 2010.
The Planning Principles were used to inform comprehensive planning along the Corridor as well as shape and inform land use change and future development. The Interim Rezoning Policy provided a framework that informed development applications at key sites in the vicinity of stations, in advance of more detailed planning for Phase 2.
PLEASE NOTE: On May 9, 2011, Council approved the Cambie Corridor Plan and repealed the Interim Rezoning Policy.

Phase 2 (Completed)
Phase 2 of the Cambie Corridor Planning Program resulted in approval of the Cambie Corridor Plan. The Cambie Corridor Plan includes policies (land use, design, built form) for strategic sites along the Corridor (Core Areas). It also includes a coordinated strategy for the entire corridor (i.e., public benefits/ amenity strategy, servicing strategy, transportation plan).

Implementation (Underway)
Staff has initiated work on a public realm strategy, district energy strategy, utilities servicing strategy, and comprehensive public benefits strategy, as outlined in Phase 2.
Phase 3 (Timing to be determined)
In May 2011, Council approved that Phase 3 of the Cambie Corridor Planning Program proceed, to be coordinated and integrated with other community planning exercises.
Planning for the Phase 3 areas north of 57th Avenue will be initiated following completion of the implementation work currently underway. For the Phase 3 areas south of 57th Avenue (i.e., within Marpole), this area will be addressed as part of the Marpole Community Plan. In both instances, the work in these “transit influenced areas” will be informed by the Cambie Corridor Terms of Reference and Phase 2 Plan.
