Higher Buildings Consultation, October 2010

In January 2010, Council requested that staff report back on potential opportunities for Higher Buildings outside of the View Corridors. Staff held three open houses in October 2010 to share this work and gather the public's feedback prior to reporting back to Council this December 2010. Round Two Consultation, October 2009

The City hosted a second round of public open houses to present four concepts and gather public feedback on these concepts to inform study recommendations and outcomes. Information on display provided details of these concepts and a public input survey and comment form were used to gather feedback about the options presented. View the open house display boards. As an additional means of reviewing these concepts the City prepared a random poll and a companion opt-in web survey to complement the input provided at open houses.

Round One Consultation, June 2009

The first round of public open houses were held in June 2009. View the open house display boards. Thank you to all who participated. The open houses attracted over 600 citizens and over 650 online surveys were completed. Feedback has provided a rich source of information for use in preparing alternative scenarios of view corridor and building height options here: Downtown Capacity and View Corridors Study Round One Public Feedback Summary (10.48mb). From these results four concepts were created for testing in round two.
