Petitions are being circulated in English, Chinese and Punjabi to oppose the proposed development of a Wal Mart on Marine Drive. Council will decide in mid-June if the application should carry forward to the next stage.

4. KCC ListServe

Reminder: If you want to reply to an individual about an email just click on Forward and then type in the individual's name you wish to reply to (rather than replying to the entire group).

5. Kingcrest (Kingsway & Knight) Rezoning

The owners of the Kingcrest site are opposed to the proposed rezoning. The owners proposed a restricted covenant (a temporary freeze) instead of City's staff proposal for a CD-1 rezoning. A draft of the covenant will be available on Monday and Council will decide on Tuesday.

6. Neighbourhood Small Grants

$500 grants are available for a local community project or events. The deadline is April 30.

7. MountanView Neighbourhood Group

Little Mountain Neighbourhood House is looking at a property on Main and 23rd. Mountainview representatives have approached LMNH to consider relocating to the 25th and Fraser area. Discussions continue.

8. Kingcrest Park

Elizabeth Jang reported that the Kingcrest Park improvement proposal is in the 1st Draft of the Capital Plan (2002 - 2003) process.

9. Bikeway - North Grandview Highway

Barb Wright reported that there has been a lack of consultation on Grandview Highway projects. The community wants to stop westbound traffic. Anne Roberts suggested the CityPlan Committee write to Council to support the idea of turning into a one-way route.

Commercial Drive traffic bulges are complete.

Meeting adjourned.

Next meeting on Thursday, April 4th, 2002 at 7:00pm at Trout Lake Community Centre.
